Below, you'll find free short stories available for download and a few
sample chapters from my novels.
The second short story, "The Signal," is a Lovecraftian horror/suspense
story originally published in Horrors Beyond II, and which received an honorable mention in The Year's Best Fantasy and Horror 2008, edited by Datlow, Link, and Grant.
The last story, "All the Sinners Saints," features my signature character,
Erevis Cale, and it fits into the "Cale continuum" between the end of Shadow's Witnessand the beginning of Twilight Falling.
Download all of them and enjoy. They'll give you a decent feel for my style of writing.
As for the sample chapters, I used to have a bunch here, but then
deleted them. Why? Because they have been surpassed, superseded, literally had their asses handed to
them by the test drives of Twilight Falling here, or Shadowbred here, each of which features the first five chapters
of those novels.
Fare thee well, single sample chapters. We hardly
